The Power of Visualization

To visualize is to create, in the same way that a blueprint is used to build a house. You have to use imagination when it comes to creating the future that you want.

When you use your imagination, you can visualize something happening before it happens. The possibilities are endless here so make it as vivid as you like.

The future you envision will have a better chance of becoming a reality depending on the amount of energy you exert into visualizing that reality. Imagine the life that you want and once you see it enough in your mind it will begin to manifest itself in reality, but only if you let it…

Life, love, liberty

The education you received in school didn’t actually teach you what you needed to know to thrive in this world. When we were kids we would see the world for what it is, with no bias and no judgment.

Soon our lives begin to unfold as we grow older, start attending school and get enough knowledge to get where we want in the world.

During this process you were stripped of a valuable human commodity

And that, my friend, was the ability to visualize.

From a young age we are taught to memorize things and be able to recall them on a moments notice for a test, job or maybe even a sport. But do you ever wonder if this is wrong? If there is a better, easier way than through the shear adversity of simple rote memory?

Well there is!

…. and this is where visualization comes into play.

As you grow older and continue using the practice of rote memory to memorize things you begin to lose your creativity and the ability to create pictures in your head.

Instead of seeing something as a picture in our heads, we memorize it for what it is. So if we are memorizing the directions to your favorite pizza place, it would begin and end somewhere, but the steps in between is what we have the most trouble with.

So you would memorize:

  • The street names
  • Number of lights before turning
  • A couple of right/left turns

But then we forget one of the steps and hell breaks loose.

However, if you use visualization, you will see yourself beginning somewhere and when they tell you the directions starting from a familiar location, you will actually watch in your mind as your travel to that destination.

The whole time you observe what is familiar in that area. When they finish, you have a good picture of how to get there, rather than just having to memorize the directions.

This is such a powerful tool that we possess and many of us forget about the true power it gives us. By neglecting the capacity to be able to do this we fall asunder to the endless piles of information we are expected to ‘memorize’ throughout our lives.

So when you approach a task, instead of just memorizing the steps to do it, actually see yourself doing it as you read the directions. Create a movie-like picture of what it will look like in your mind and you will have a much easier time recalling the information.

“With great power, comes great responsibility.” – Voltaire

Remember, you have the power to see what you can do before you do it. Create the future you want in your mind and suddenly your world will change as your dream unfold into reality.

What are some techniques that you use to visualize and help you remember things? Let me know in the comments below :)

May infinite light shine upon you, revealing your path to eternal bliss. Remember, all the answers we seek are only found inside of us, so don’t be afraid to go within. Love and unity to you all <3
